Narcissus is known as the Greek mythology character who rejected all romantic advances, eventually falling in love with his own reflection in a pool of water. In my opinion a reflection has the ability to pull all walks of life into it's light. In the right placement it can question it's own boundaries in logic and or create a metaphysical point of view. I built this mirror and stand so the reflection would be interpreted as an image on display. To be conscious of what I was photographing in front of me while keeping in mind the exact direction of the sun and how that will interpret with the reflection took some time to get used to. The relationship between two dictated a lot and I found minimal, bright environments that felt somewhat enchanting worked best for what I was drawn to. Each location was like a cover to a new book and the reflection was those short stories revealed inside the frame. The two form a relationship that feels purposeful. Some locations were pretty far off the road. I would visit a location and envision the shot then organize the mirror and aim it at what I had in mind and that's how most of the images were made. None of these images are photoshopped in anyway or manipulated. They are intended to be seen exactly how I saw it exactly.
